Japan Scrapbook Pages Part 1
A good friend and I recently took a trip to Japan with Country Heritage Tours, a quilt tour company. We thought that the main highlight of the trip would be the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival, but there were so many other wonderful places to see and things to do that the quilt show, while fabulous to see, was just one more. We both enjoyed almost everything about the trip (except for having to remove our shoes at several places; we both wear orthotics in our shoes and find it very uncomfortable to walk without them). I have completed 11 scrapbook pages of the trip that I will be sharing over the next few days, and several of the places we went didn't allow photos to be taken inside. As always, you can click on the pages to see them larger and read the journaling.

Africa Scrapbook Part 1
I don't post here very often anymore; I'm not sure why. But my husband and I went on safari to South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana in September, and it was the trip of lifetime. We made a scrapbook of the trip, and I want to share that scrapbook here. I have scrapbooked much of my life, and I've been doing my scrapbooking digitally for many years now. In the past, I would create a page, print that page on my photo-quality, large-format home printer, and then put the page into a page protector in an album. My photo-quality printer died last year, and we bought a VERY inexpensive replacement for it that is neither photo-quality nor large-format; the largest size paper it can print on is 8.5" X 14" (our large-format printer could print on 13" X 19" paper, making it easy to create 12" X 12" scrapbook pages). I had never used a service to print my scrapbook pages before, which means I had also never created a whole book. But this trip was so special that we felt it deserved its own book. So my husband and I worked together to create this book. The majority of the photos are his; the layouts of the pages are mine. The journaling is from both of us. We ordered the book from Adoramapix, and we are extremely pleased with the results. The book has 42 pages plus the cover, so I will upload them in several posts over a number of days. This first post shows the cover, our itinerary, and the first 3 pages. You can click on the pages to see them larger and read the journaling.

Scrapbook Pages of My Recent Trip
I have a friend who I met on my trip to Greece, and then again in France, who loves fountain pens as much as I do (in fact, we went to a pen store together in Paris, where she bought a nice pen and I bought a leather pen case). She lives in Annapolis, and I went to visit her last week. We attended the DC Pen Show and had so much fun. Before the show, she showed me around Annapolis and we even found some time to sketch together (I haven't been doing much sketching lately; I've been concentrating on sewing and quilting).
After the pen show, I took the train to Philadelphia to meet my cousin, who lives in a suburb along the Pennsylvania Railroad. She showed me around Philly, where my two favorite things to see were the Barnes Foundation, with its huge collection of Impressionist paintings, and the Liberty Bell, because of its historical significance.
These are the scrapbook pages I did to remember the trip. You can click on the pages to see them larger and read the journaling.
