Good Pals

A common occurrence around here!  But don't be deceived by the picture - Buster (the cat) is so much closer to the camera than Buddy (the dog) that he looks almost as big.  But Buddy weighs 85 pounds, while Buster weighs 12 pounds.

Buddy (the dog) licks Buster (the cat) every chance he gets. Buster puts up with a lot of it, but sometimes he gets tired of it. I guess Buddy didn't want Buster to run away again!

And yes, in case anyone was wondering, we're keeping them!

Buddy's First Duck Hunt

Buddy went on his first actual duck hunt today and retrieved each of these 5 ducks. Glen was very happy that he did not show any of the gun shyness that he had exhibited earlier.

Retriever Training

Buddy isn't quite 6 months old yet (next week) and he already weighs 65.5 pounds! Our last lab weighed that when he was full grown (he was a little on the small side, but still . . .).

We started obedience class with him last week, and he's coming along. Yesterday we had a couple of friends come over, and he DIDN'T jump on them - YAY! They were both ready to knee him - hard - in the chest, but they didn't even have to. He's still a long way away from being ready to have a kitten in the house though (darn it!).

Buddy the Water Dog

He's like a kid playing in a sprinkler, only it's a hose. I can't believe how big he's getting already - he's not quite 4 months old, and he already weights about 43 pounds. He's going to be big!

But I'm a real handful! More energetic than my owners, that's for sure.

We met our new puppy today (Wednesday, May 19). We'll bring him home on Friday. It was hard to choose, but both Glen and I agreed on "Mr. Green" - the one with the green ribbon collar.
