My cat was sitting on the floor in front of me the other evening, and I'd never drawn him before, so I decided to try. I got the pencil sketch finished before he moved. I did the ink work last night and finished the watercolor pencil today.
He's getting pretty old, so I've been trying to really pay more attention to him lately, since I know he won't be around forever. He's in pretty good health for his age, but still . . .

It is a lovely sketch/watercolour. He was very accommodating sitting still long enough for you to sketch him!
I know what you mean about paying attention to the cat. We lost our boy cat this year and honestly no amount of time and photos would have been enough-although I certainly tried!
I enjoy your posts and just wanted to say hello and thanks.

Cheryl, you did a great job on this drawing, I love the way you caught the texture of his fur in your picture.
A very nice drawing. I have so often tried to draw and have just given up, and I admire those that can. My mom is actually a very talented artist and that talent was passed to my children, but some how skipped me.
What a terrific drawing! Wooo-hooo! And a gorgeous cat, too! Wishing you and yours a very happy New Year! :-)
A lovely drawing of Lucky.
