75 Day Sketch Challenge Days 27-33

I haven't posted much lately for a couple of reasons.  First, we spent a week traveling.  We flew to Great Falls, Montana, on September 14th.  We rented a car and drove to Glacier National Park where we met my brother and sister-in-law.  We shared a (very small) 2 bedroom Guest House (aka cabin) at St. Mary Lodge on the east edge of the park for 3 days.  Then we headed west and they headed south.  We stayed at a really nice bed and breakfast in Whitefish called Good Medicine Lodge.  We drove into Idaho and saw beautiful Kootenai Falls along the way.  We drove through the National Bison Range and saw bison, mule deer, and pronghorn antelope.

We flew home on the 21st, and then started moving my mother from a 2 bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment in an assisted living center on the 22nd.  So, needless to say, I haven't had much time for ANYTHING else!  But my mom is pretty much moved in now, and I'm hoping to get back to doing a few other things.

The one thing I have managed to do for myself is to sketch something every day for my 75 day sketch challenge; so far, I haven't missed a day (today is day 44).  Rather than do 8 separate posts of my sketches from our trip, I'm going to post all of them in this post (all photos can be clicked on to see larger and to read the journaling).

Day 27

Day 28 - sketched from a photo

Day 29 - sketched from a photo

Day 30

Day 30

Day 31 - sketched from a photo

Day 32

Day 33 - sketched from a photo

All sketches except one were done with permanent pen first and then watercolor was added; the stove was done with water soluble pen and then water was added.  I will upload more sketches as I have time (and a few photos from our trip as well).

i'm so glad you had such a good time on your trip to glacier. my husband and i just spent a weekend in sandpoint, idaho and, believe me, it is a must see. hopefully you will return some day. your sketches are so realistic and perfectly framed. i would love to create a travel journal in your style of sketching.

Good for you, Cheryl, to keep up the daily sketch! I really enjoyed your pages. I haven't been nearly so good, but keep trying. Cheers!
