Imaginary Trip to England - Scarisbrick Hall

It was a festival day today at Scarisbrick Hall in Lancashire. So not only did we see an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic architecture, including the 100-foot tower that reminded me of Big Ben, but wildflowers and baby animals and secret gardens. It was another fabulous day.

I'm not really in England, even though I wish I was. I'm taking Laure Ferlita's class, An Imaginary Trip to England.

Love the purple tree in your painting. It's a rainy day here today, so I'm imagining that I'm in England...

Hi I am a teacher at Sarisbrick Hall School. I am amazed that you chose to paint Scarisbrick Hall from the whole of England. Have you any links with Scarisbrick? It is glorious at the moment

Mrs. - I have no ties to Scarisbrick Hall. I was taking a watercolor journaling class from an artist named Laure Ferlita, called "An Imaginary Trip to England." Each lesson was a different subject, and this lesson was Scarisbrick Hall. I don't know how Laure selected her locations, but her website is here:

I love your journal spread: It is so nicely arranged and beautifully painted. Did you use watercolors? Watercolor pencils too?
