Last Circle Journal Pages

I finished pages for my last circle journal tonight - wahoo!!! The funny thing is, I almost didn't sign up for this, because I wasn't sure I'd have the time to devote to it, and I didn't want to disappoint anyone or get too far behind. I am the first one to finish - haha! I understand that things happen, and I'm not upset with anyone who hasn't gotten their page to me yet, but I do think it's kind of funny. Of course, I don't work outside the home, while most of the other particpants do, so I know there are good reasons. But it feels good to be finished. The theme for this one was "what makes you smile."

Cards

I've been making cards with Lauren's Stocking Stuffer kits. It is so easy using card templates.

First are a couple of cards using She Loves a Blue Christmas. Both templates are from Jen Caputo of The Digi Shoppe:

Next are two cards using Sweets of Christmas. The template for the first card is by Jen Caputo, and the second one is by Christine Smith of The DigiChick.

And finally, I used Christmas at Penguin City for this last card (and the black mat is from Tyler, also by Lauren). This template is from Jen Caputo.

New Blog Header

I finished a new header tonight. Used Jack Frost Kit by Eve Recinella, the notebook paper scrap is from Girl Notes by Lauren Grier, and the font is Cheryl (you gotta love a font with your own name, huh?).

Deer Hunting

My latest layout is for my husband. He is a deer hunter, and he always wants me to take a picture of him with his kill. I've always hated what I call "dead animal pictures," but we've learned a little bit about how to make the pictures a little less disgusting. LOL!

Published!

I've had 3 layouts accepted for publication! I'm really excited about this. They will be published in Ready, Set, Create, which is the magazine I was published in a few months back. And good things seem to come in 3's, since I had 3 accepted last time too. These are layouts of my cat, Lucky. I've removed the posts of them from here until after the publication date of the magazine.

Beautiful Flowers

This layout was published in the April/May 2007 issue of Ready Set Create.

I took these photos at our friends' garden last year - aren't the flowers just gorgeous? I used That Girly Influence by Lauren Grier, available at Sweet Shoppe Designs. The green mat behind the large rose photo is from Lauren's Sweets of Christmas, one of the Stocking Stuffer Collection, also at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I also used Christine Smith's Freestyle Flower template, available at The DigiChick, and a digital sketch by Jen Caputo, available at The Digi Shoppe. I've always loved taking flower shots.

2 New Layouts

I didn't realize how far behind I'd gotten in printing my layouts, but I printed 10 pages yesterday! Everytime I do that, I say that from now on I'm going to print each time I finish one. We'll see if I do any better from now on.

I also finished 2 new layouts over the weekend - these are for Eve's CT.

This is a layout of our first snow this year. Some years we don't get any snow at all, but this time we got about a foot. I used Jack Frost Kit by Eve Recinella, available here at Eve Recinella Designs. Black frames are from Mud Pie by Manda Bean at Sweet Shoppe Designs.

And this layout is of our trip to the US National Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis in January. My husband took the pictures of Johnny Weir, Inoue and Balwin, and Sasha Cohen, while our friend Pam Brauer took the picture of Belbin and Agosto (thanks Pam!). I used Authentic Happiness Kit by Eve Recinella, available here at Sweet Shoppe Designs (and white background paper is from her Jack Frost Kit). The watercolor alpha (in the title) are by Christine Smith of The DigiChick, the circle stamps (on the red paper) are by Michelle Coleman of ScrapArtist, and the sketch is from Layout Blueprints.
